Ocean City Seniors Earn $1.5 Million In Scholarships
This is the highest total for any class in Ocean City High School history.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — Ocean City High School's Class of 2019 collectively made history. The students earned nearly $1.5 million in scholarships, the largest total for any OCHS senior class.
Students were honored at a Senior Awards Gala on Thursday at OCHS. They received local, regional, state and even some national scholarships.
“I wanted to extend a special thank you to all of the organizations and individual benefactors who generously gave scholarships or awards to our 2019 graduates totaling nearly 1.5 million dollars, the highest ever in OCHS history,” said Superintendent Dr. Kathleen Taylor. “We sincerely appreciate the overwhelming community support of our students. You are making dreams come true.”

Awardees included six students participating in the armed forces:
- Jack Branin, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy
- Garret Longstaff, U.S. Air Force Academy
- Eric Love, Army ROTC
- Kyle Saul, Army ROTC
- Andrew Redmond, Naval ROTC
- Benjamin Wiley, Air Force ROTC
Twenty-nine students also earned the Seal of Biliteracy — eight in ASL, 16 in Spanish, four in Spanish and Italian and one in French.
