Ocean City Yacht Club Summer Series Regatta Results
The competition draws some of the best youth sailors in the state.
The Ocean City Yacht Club hosted its annual Summer Series regatta on Thursday (July 14), drawing sailors from up and down the New Jersey coast.
A stiff breeze, sometimes reaching 16 knots, and a strong outgoing tide made for some very challenging conditions and thrilling racing for the young sailors.
“The conditions on the water were extremely exciting for the kids, and this will be a regatta they will remember and talk about for some time," OCYC Past Commodore Matt Vollmer said. "We had 130 boats in five different classes racing five T4 courses, each race with two difficult upwind legs.”
