• Electric vehicles and other devices can be fire risks after nor'easter (thedailyjournal.com) — Ocean City residents are being urged to treat any electric vehicles, e-bikes, or golf carts exposed to recent saltwater flooding as potential fire hazards. Mayor Jay Gillian and Jersey Shore fire officials warn that damaged lithium-ion batteries can ignite violently even days later, and advise moving affected equipment away from buildings, contacting manufacturers or insurers, and calling 911 if a battery smokes or overheats.
