Phase II Renovations in Full Swing at The Shore Club

CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE, N.J. —The Shore Club, the premier family-friendly, private golf club named Middle Township’s 2019 Business of the Year (Entertainment/Recreation category), announces that Phase II of its comprehensive revitalization project is underway. Club members will soon enjoy a completely redesigned restaurant and casual dining experience, updated men’s and women’s lobby lounges, improved golf course bunkers, and a host of fun events.

Since being rebranded and relaunched to members in 2018, The Shore Club (formerly Wildwood Golf & Country Club) has seen membership increase by 50% across all categories with families driving the growth. The club’s Full and Intermediate Golf Members may now add their children up to age 24 at no extra charge and also have reciprocal privileges at 250 courses around the world and in the United States, including the TPC network. The Shore Club also features Social Memberships for only $155 per year.

“It has been an eventful spring here at The Shore Club,” says Kelley Nigra, Shore Club General Manager. “From the continual clang of hammers to the constant new faces coming in looking to join the Shore Club family; our 2019 season is shaping up to be quite impressive. It seems as if every time you walk through our doors there is someone or something new to see.”

Earlier this spring, The Shore Club began renovating MacKissic’s, the club’s main dining area, converting it from a pub to a coastal chic, casual café and bar that better aligns with the club’s new look. The new modernized bar will “tap” into the local craft brew scene; having added four new bar taps that will highlight some of the area’s best brews. The kitchen will be rolling out an enticing menu to accompany the bar’s latest offerings.

This season, Members will also see refurbished men’s and ladies lobby lounges featuring new flooring, tile, paint, fixtures, furniture, and countertops. These projects complement the already completed modernization of the club’s main entrance and its expansive Grand Ballroom.

In 2019, the club will offer a more robust social calendar with its annual Memorial Day Family BBQ kicking off the season. Members will enjoy the addition of twice-monthly Friday evening musical appearances by popular South Jersey entertainer Jim Bannach and the introduction of new family events. Also, plans include a Jack n Jill style couples league, themed dinner nights, and big-name band events.

On the course, The Shore Club is completing the next phase of its bunker restoration with Holes No. 1, 6, and 9 slated for improvements. The club will also roll out its six-week Ladies Spring Tune-Up program, offer a Ladies 9 & Wine, begin its packed seasonal tournament schedule, and feature a nine-hole Couples League this summer.

Juniors will look forward to The Shore Club’s comprehensive summer camp programs that feature multi-hour, twice weekly instructional sessions geared towards specific skill levels. Video instruction, TrackMan basics, and rule and etiquette sessions are included in this fun program. The Shore Club’s summer camps and instructional sessions are open to non-members.

Beginning in June, Tuesdays will once again be “Family Night” at The Shore Club where both parents and kids experience a little instruction, a little golf, and then grab a little bite to eat. A new “Break 80” program allows adults and kids to track their improvement and progress through levels of achievement. This program is also open to non-member guests.

“There’s a great deal of excitement around here these days,” says PGA Director of Golf Fred Riedel, “In my 17+ years at this facility, I have not experienced a more positive vibe. This place has always been special and will only become more so as we move forward, and I am blessed to be part of it.”
