Plop Yourself Down And Get Ready For Autumn: It's Almost Fall In Ocean City

Ocean City, NJ -- Ocean City can think of no better way to welcome the fall season than by showing how well they can … well, fall.

The King and Queen of Plop, also known as the Mr. Fall Guy and Miss Fall Gal Pageant, is set for Friday, Sept. 2, 11 a.m. at the 9th Street Beach. Registration is 10:30 a.m. Entry is free.

Contestants are asked to demonstrate their unusual plops, and are required to perform their plops in slow motion. Anything that happens too fast earns a disqualification.

There will be a number of celebrity ploppers who “drop by” that will not be eligible for prizes. They just plop for the thrill of being part of this unique “performance art,” Ocean City Public Relations Director Mark Soifer said.

The first King of Plop, Ryan Carroll of Ocean City, will be honored. He will also help judge the pageant.
Celebrities will include Doug Jewell and the plopping pirates; Nancy Fox and her plopping divas; Suzanne Muldowney, the plopping mermaid; Rene Sese, Mr. Mature America, who will serenade the divas, and more.

Nurse Perfect of Martin Mollusk fame will check contestants’ blood pressure, if needed.
