Portion Of Boardwalk Reopens In Ocean City: Mayor
A full length of the boardwalk reopened on Friday, Mayor Jay Gillian said.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — A full length of the Ocean City Boardwalk reopened on Friday, Mayor Jay Gillian announced. Access to businesses has been restored, and a detour for pedestrians, runners and bicyclists is no longer in effect.
The project to reconstruct the boardwalk between 10th Street and 12th Street is almost finished, but work continues on the side closest to the ocean, according to Gillian. Crews are still working on the re-installation of railings and lampposts, as well as a new pavilion on 12th Street, the entrance at 11th Street and finish work. Residents are advised to continue to use caution in the area until work is complete.
"I’m happy that work remains ahead of schedule," Gillian said. "When it’s done, the entire substructure and decking of the boardwalk between Fifth Street and 12th Street will have been rebuilt. The boardwalk is an important part of what makes Ocean City unique, and it’s reassuring to know that the heart of the structure will be strong and safe for decades to come."
