Prosecutor: Somers Point Woman Stole $400,000 From Avalon Car Dealership

Monica Schaeffer allegedly stole the money while employed as a manager at the Avalon Honda.

A 53-year-old Somers Point woman has been indicted on two counts of second degree theft and one count of second degree conspiracy for allegedly stealing more than $400,000 from Avalon Honda over a three-year period.

Monica Schaeffer was employed as a manager at the car dealership at the time of the alleged thefts, according to Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor.

Schaffer is also charged with conspiring to commit the thefts with co-defendant Robert Gyeh.

A second degree offense carries a potential sentence of up to ten years in the New Jersey State Prison.
