Relive The 1970s With "8 Track" At Ocean City Music Pier

The show runs for three performances next month.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — Once upon a time, music flowing from cassette tapes was a wild fantasy that would be realized in the not too distant future. Now, with any catalog of music available at the touch of a finger through laptops the Ocean City Theatre Company looks back on a simpler time.

“8-Track: The Sounds of the '70s” runs on the Ocean City Music Pier Oct. 6-8. The Ocean City Theatre Company continues its 10th anniversary season with this high-energy musical revue that features a professional cast of performers. Show times are 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 6 and 7, and 2 p.m. on Oct. 8. The Ocean City Music Pier is located at Moorlyn Terrace and the Boardwalk.

Conceived by Rick Seeber, “8-Track” features the music of the Carpenters, The Doobie Brothers, the Bee Gees, Barry Manilow, Marvin Gaye, KC and the Sunshine Band, and many more. The audience will enjoy the thumping rhythms and stunning harmonies that were the best of 1970s music, including “Everything is Beautiful,” “American Pie,” “Takin’ It to the Streets,” “Tie a Yellow Ribbon,” “Don’t Cry Out Loud,” “Desperado,” and “Shake, Shake, Shake.”
