Missing 2 Days: Man Stopped Car, Jumped 200 Feet Off South Jersey Bridge

The body of the man who jumped off the Delaware Memorial Bridge had not been found a day after he parked his Maryland-licensed vehicle in the right lane of the bridge and turned on his hazard lights, according to Delaware Online.
U.S. Coast Guard officials and area firefighters searched for the man, according to the report, but "a body has not been recovered." "There hasn't been a rescue or recovery," he told the publication. The average February temperature in the river, near the twin spans, is 38 degrees..

The incident happened shortly after 8 a.m. when a man stopped his vehicle in the right lane at mid-point of the Delaware Memorial Bridge, Delaware River & Bay Authority spokesman Jim Salmon told nj.com.
The man put on his hazard lights, exited the vehicle and jumped over the side, probably falling about 200 feet into the Delaware River.

The U.S. Coast Guard and fire units were assisting in the search for the man, according to the report, and authorities have not identified the man.
