The changing colors of autumn provide a scenic background for fall and harvest festivals, which have contests ranging from apple bobbing and pumpkin carving to lumberjack contests and Halloween parades.
Fall is also the season for corn mazes, pumpkin patches and apple orchard visits.

Here are a few festivals and events in Ocean City worth putting on the calendar:
- Every dog has his day with the Howl-O-Ween Parade on the Boardwalk on Oct. 22.
- The 74th Annual Halloween Parade starts at 7:15 p.m. on Oct. 27.
- Enjoy the Halloween Costume Skate at the Ocean City Skate Park from 4 p.m. to dusk on Oct. 29.
