WILDWOOD, NJ — It's not a snowstorm, it's Donald Trump. The Wildwood City School District canceled school for Jan. 28, the day President Trump will hold a rally in town.

The Wildwood Board of Education made the decision at Wednesday's board meeting. President Trump announced Monday that he will hold a rally at 7 p.m. Jan. 28 at the Wildwoods Convention Center.

Doors will open at 3 p.m., around the time school gets out. Wildwood Middle and High School are both less than 1,600 feet from the Convention Center, said Superintendent J. Kenyon Kummings.

"Given that this is such a unique and unprecedented event, the board unanimously agreed that exercising an abundance of caution was appropriate," Kummings said.

The district's last day of school was postponed one day later to June 16. Kummings announced the decision Thursday to parents.
