Woman Indicted For Firing Shots During Argument In Wildwood: Cops

Mikea C. Rivers, 24, of Philadelphia, was indicted on the charges this week.

A Philadelphia woman has been indicted for aggravated assault and related weapons charges in Cape May County, Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland announced. Mikea C. Rivers, 24, is accused of firing a gun during an argument between members of her family and another group that took place in Wildwood on May 26.

That night, an argument broke out between the groups, at which time police say Rivera pulled out a 9mm handgun, pointed it at two people and fired a round into the air over their heads. She was initially arrested and charged by Wildwood police that night.

On Tuesday, Aug. 28, she was indicted by a grand jury on charges of second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, two counts of second-degree aggravated assault and two counts of fourth-degree aggravated assault.

She faces 10-20 years in New Jersey State Prison on the second-degree charges and up to 18 months for the fourth-degree charges.
