Woman Killed In Somers Point Crash; Fundraiser Established
The driver in last week's rollover Parkway crash has died as a result of her injuries. A GoFundMe was created for her injured passenger.
SOMERS POINT, NJ — A woman has died as a result of a four-vehicle rollover crash in Somers Point on July 21.
Four vehicles, including a MCI bus, were involved in the accident at the 30.1 mile marker in Somers Point around 9 p.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Alejandro Goez told Patch previously.
The woman was driving a GMC Yukon that was sideswiped by the bus, Goez said. This caused the GMC and a Hyundai Genesis to strike the rear of a Jeep Wrangler traveling on the right shoulder, Goez said.

The GMC continued off-road to the right, hitting the guardrail and overturning, Goez said. The driver, a 53-year-old Cape May Court House woman, has now died as a result of the crash, a family member told Patch.
Her passenger, a 53-year-old man also of Cape May Court House, sustained serious injuries, Goez said.

The driver and passenger were unidentified by police, but a GoFundMe named them as Amy Henderson and Joe Weaver.
"On the night of Thursday, July 21st, 2022, Joe Weaver and Amy Henderson were in a horrific rollover multi-vehicle accident on the Garden State Parkway in Somers Point, NJ," the GoFundMe's organizer, Suzanne Reading, wrote. "Unfortunately, the crash took Amy's sweet life, and Joe is devastated."
The GoFundMe, titled "LOVE FOR JOE WEAVER," was established to support Weaver who "sustained multiple severe injuries" in the crash, Reading wrote on the fundraiser.
Weaver is scheduled for surgery later in the week and will be unable to work for several months as he recovers, Reading wrote.
"If you know Joe, you already know he is one of the humblest, kindest and most giving people you will ever meet, but he would never be comfortable asking for help in this way," she wrote.
The Jeep's driver, a 20-year-old male from Chester, Pennsylvania, sustained "moderate injuries," Goez said.
Both the Hyundai driver and the bus driver were uninjured, Goez said.
New Jersey State Police are investigating the crash.
