Woman Punched By Cops Banned From Wildwood For 1 Year
A woman's arrest went viral after video showed police punching her in the head on a Wildwood Beach.

A woman punched by cops and violently arrested last year on Wildwood was sentenced Friday to one year of probation and a one-year ban from Wildwood, according to reports. Emily Weinman pleaded guilty to one count of disorderly conduct, with all other charges dropped from her violent arrest last year.
Her attorneys, Steve Scheffler and Stephen Dicht, did not rule out future civil action by Weinman against the Wildwood officers, according to philly.com.
"When the officers approached me on the beach, I got upset, and I said a few curse words," Weinman said during her guilty plea, according to philly.com.

A viral video emerged of police punching Weinman after she refused to give them her name when they approached her about having alcohol on the beach.
The Cape May County Prosecutor's Office indicted Weinman on assault charges in September for the Memorial Day incident. She was also charged with resisting arrest, throwing bodily fluids and obstruction.

Authorities previously said the officers wouldn't face charges related to the assault. After that announcement, Weinman told CBS This Morning that the decision shows that the police think they can "get away with it."
A nearby beachgoer filmed an officer punching Weinman in the head as she lies in the sand with her legs flailing. "You're about the get dropped," one of the officers told Weinman just before police grabbed her.
Following the incident Wildwood Commissioner of Public Safety Tony Leonetti told NBC10 that Weinman, kicked one officer in the groin and ran away, which was not shown on the video. Wildwood Police said Weinman spat on one of the officers.
Weinman, who was under 21 at the time, had gone to the beach with her daughter, her father and a friend. Weinman had acknowledged that she gave the police a "little attitude" when they approached her about alcohol on the beach, which she said was sealed.
