Bergen County Academies’ seniors Laura Di Iorio of Paramus, and Irene Hwang of Ramsey have both been chosen to receive the President’s Volunteer Service Award. This award recognizes Americans of all ages who have volunteered significant amounts of their time to serve their communities and their country, and is granted by the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards Program.
Additionally, Irene Hwang was chosen as one of the top runners-up in the 2020 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards in New Jersey. She will be awarded an engraved bronze Distinguished Finalist Medallion for her work with One2One, a nonprofit organization that offers language classes and community services to the Hispanic population in Nyack, NY.
