Another Black Bear Sighting In Paramus: Police
A black bear has been sighted in the area of Chimes Road this morning. Yesterday, a black bear was sighted bear Columbine Road.
PARAMUS, NJ — A black bear has been sighted in the area of Chimes Road in Paramus, according to police.
This sighting comes after news yesterday of a black bear near the area of Columbine Road in the borough.
In a tweet, Paramus police asked anyone who sees the bear to contact the police department.

The police department has not announced whether this is the same bear that was reported yesterday.
According to a report from Northjersey.com, state records show that reports of black bears have nearly doubled in 2020 as compared to 2019. A graphic shows that reports are up in Bergen County as well.

According to the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife there have been 147 bear sightings in the period between Jan. 1 and June 20 of 2020.
In Bergen County, overall bear incident reports are up to 21 in 2020 compared to just nine in 2019.
Sussex County easily paces the state in incident reports with 157.
New Jersey Fish and Wildlife have offered tips for anyone who may encounter a bear.
