Authorities Stop Accepting Applications For Just Pups Puppies
The dogs were found in a van outside the now-closed Just Pups store on Route 17 last month.

The borough of Paramus announced Thursday that it is no longer accepting applications to adopt some of the puppies found crammed in cages in a van behind the Just Pups store last month.
"Due to an overwhelming response, we are no longer taking applications," officials stated on the borough website. The announcement came about a day after officials announced the puppies were available to be adopted.
Sixty-seven puppies were found in near-freezing temperatures inside a van parked outside the Route 17 store early one morning, police said.

Authorities say Leonard LoSacco drove the puppies from Just Pups breeding facility in MIssouri April 3 and left the van outside the store with the idea that the puppies would have been checked on the next day by a veterinarian, authorities said.
