PARAMUS, NJ — Chess is normally associated with the colors black and white, but silver is the color on the minds of Bergen Community College Chess Club members.

The club took second place in the seventh annual Central New York Open in Syracuse, beating out a number of other teams during the three-day tournament.

The tournament took place in fall 2021 but students were just recently able to come together and take a photo to celebrate. Team members Cristopher Martinez, of Garfield; Chanpyo Kim, of Leonia; and Chess Club President Christian Rey, of Bogota are pictured in the photo above.
