Bergen High-Schooler Charged With Dealing Marijuana

Police found more than 4 ounces of marijuana, a digital scale and drug paraphernalia inside the boy's bedroom, authorities said.

A Fair Lawn High School student will be charged with distribution of marijuana after police found several ounces of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in his bedroom Monday, police said.

School Resource Officer Sean Nagle, Detective Anthony Lugo and Detective Lt. Joseph Dawicki detained a 15-year-old Fair Lawn High School Student at 2:16 p.m. and took him home where they found 4.6 ounces of marijuana, a digital scale and drug paraphernalia in a lockbox in his bedroom, said Sgt. Brian Metzler.

Police searched the boy's room with a parent present, Metzler said.

Officers confronted the boy after investigating information about drug distribution within the borough.

The boy was released to the parent. He will be charged in Family Court with distribution of marijuana, possession of more than 50 grams of marijuana, distribution within 1,000 feet of a school and possession of drug paraphernalia, the sergeant said.
