Bergen Man Accused Of Sexually Assaulting 2 Young Girls Arrested In Paramus: Prosecutor

Goody Sotomayor-Gamarra, 25, is in the Bergen County Jail, authorities said.

A Bergen County man was arrested in Paramus and charged with sexual assault Tuesday after two juvenile girls told police he sexually assaulted them.

Goody Sotomayor-Gamarra, 26, of Garfield, was charged with two after police investigated two girls' claims that he sexually assaulted them, said Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal.

The New York City Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Sunday and told authorities that the girls told them Sotomayor-Gamarra sexually assaulted them, Grewal said.

The prosecutor's office Special Victims Unit and the Englewood Police Department investigated the girls' claims and Sotomayor-Gamarra was arrested in Paramus, the prosecutor said. He was charged with two counts of sexual assault. Authorities did not say why he was arrested in Paramus nor where he was when he was apprehended, but he does work at a fitness center.

Sotomayor-Gamarra was taken to the Bergen County Jail pending his arraignment, Grewal said. He was scheduled to appear in Bergen Central Judicial Processing Court Wednesday afternoon.
