Bergen Prosecutor Charges Man With Insurance Fraud
Gary E. Huffman, 42, worked for an electrical company while receiving disability insurance payments, authorities said.

A man who worked as an electrician and continued to collect worker's compensation payments was charged with insurance fraud and theft, said Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal.
The prosecutor's office received information in March that Gary E. Huffman, 42, of Parsippany, had been working for an electrical company while receiving payments from an injury he sustained while working for a different employer, Grewal said.
The prosecutor's office Financial Crimes Unit discovered that Huffman was injured in April 2015, filed for temporary disability, and starting receiving payments, Grewal said.

In August, Huffman began working for another company. The disability payments only ended when authorities discovered that Huffman was violating his disability status, the prosecutor said.
Huffman was charged Thursday with insurance fraud and theft. He is scheduled to appear in Bergen County Central Judicial Processing Court Dec. 21.
