"BEST OF NJ" Wine, Art, and Chocolate Fundraiser to Benefit Bergen County CASA for Children, 11-6 in Ridgewood

The "Best of NJ" Wine, Art and Chocolate Event will benefit Bergen County CASA for Children which advocates for children in foster care.

CASA for Children of Bergen County will host a host “Best of New Jersey Wine + Chocolate + Art” fundraiser at the Ridgewood Woman’s Club in Ridgewood, NJ on November 6th, 2014 at 6:30 pm. CASA for children provides one-on-one advocates for children in foster care so they have a voice. The $50 admission fee will get you a taste of wines, a wine seminar, a taste of chocolates and light refreshments. Art by local artists will be available for purchase and there will be a silent auction. Tickets can be purchased at www.BergenCasa.org or by calling 201-235-7520.

There will be a seminar presented by John Cifelli, Executive Director of the Garden State Wine Growers Association. Guests will taste wines homegrown on New Jersey vineyards, generously sponsored by Super Wine Warehouse in Paterson, NJ and the New Jersey Liquor Store Alliance. Dove Chocolates at Home (M&M Mars) and Inserra Shop Rite are also gracious sponsors for this event. Featured artists are Kate Faust, Murray Smith, Marianne Kuhn and Rebecca Leer. Chocolate treats and art works will be offered for sale with donations being made to CASA, in addition to a silent auction.

“This is our first fall fundraiser in many years,” states Suzanne Curry, President of the Board of Trustees. “We are trying to grow the program. We serve one third of the children currently in foster care in Bergen County and want to significantly increase that number. Please consider attending to learn more about us. We need funding to accomplish this but we are also in need of volunteers.”

CASA for Children of Bergen County is a non-profit organization based in Hackensack, NJ and dedicated to advocating for the best interests of abused and neglected children. CASA volunteers ensure these children receive the services they need while in foster care and them to find safe, permanent homes so theycan reach their full potential. At present, Bergen CASA serves about one third of the more than 500 children in foster placements in Bergen County with a goal to have a volunteer for EVERY child removed from his/her home.
