Blood Drive Being Held In Honor Of Paramus Bus Crash Victims

43 people were injured and 2 people, a student and a teacher, died when their bus collided with a dump truck on I-80 May 17.

PARAMUS, NJ — A blood drive in honor of the victims of East Brook Middle School is Wednesday.

The blood drive is from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Paramus Life Safety Complex at 1 Jockish Square West.

All donors will receive free health screenings, which include cholesterol, blood pressure, temperature, iron, and blood type.

Donors should eat before donating, weigh at least 110 pounds, and bring identification. Walk-ins are welcome.

There were 46 people on the bus, 38 students from East Brook Middle School on the bus, along with seven teachers and chaperones, and the driver, Hudy Muldrow Sr.

Two people, teacher Jennifer Williamson-Kennedy and 10-year-old student Miranda Faith Vargas died in the Mount Olive crash.

The impact knocked the bus into the center median, and tore it into multiple pieces. Several people were critically injured during the crash, authorities said.
