
The Paramus Planning Board meets Thursday to hear an application to open a gym in the building at 270 Route 4 East once occupied by a movie theater.
The owners of 24-Hour Fitness need approval for their proposed signs, which are larger than the Borough allows.
The Borough allows wall signs to be up to 100 square feet. On the north wall, the owners propose a pair of signs that are each more than 210 square feet. On the west wall, a 224 square foot sign is proposed.

The sign ordinance allows up to 200 square feet of building sign area. In total, 24-Hour Fitness proposes 665 square feet.
The owners also propose a 55 square foot pylon sign, while only 36 square feet are allowed.

The board will also hear an application for a major soil moving permit at the New Cedar Park Cemetery at Soldier Hill Road and Forest Avenue.
The Planning Board meets at 7 p.m. in Borough Hall.
