From Harlem bandstands to Broadway, drummer Phil Young has built a career with rhythm, range and remarkable company. Performing professionally since his teens, Young has played with jazz giants Dizzy Gillespie, Freddie Hubbard and Mary Lou Williams, blues great Bobby “Blue” Bland, and celebrated acts including The Temptations and The 5th Dimension.
A longtime presence in Harlem’s musical community, Young brings decades of jazz, blues and soul experience to every performance. His career also includes Broadway’s Don’t Bother Me, I and Can’t Cope.
