But first...audition details:

•how??Auditions are appointment-based, mostly AMERICAN IDOL (a ‘Capella) style. You will also be reading from sides. Dance will be determined on-the-spot.

•when??Appointments may be scheduled between May 13th-15th, 2015. You must have time approval (via the directors) for your audition appointment.
Typically, 7.45-10pm are the time slots for weekdays. (Through 11pm if needed on the Friday).

*open call will be held Thursday May 14th between 8:45pm-9:45pm

•where??Our troupe’s rental space: Philhower Chapel &/ or the New Garret Classrooms (located within Vincent UMC) --- 100 Vincent Pl, Nutley, NJ.

•what to provide??
Your lovely voices, flat shoes & comfortable pants, and 1 or 2 prepared 48-bar segments of songs:
80s/ 90s rock ballads
Selections from *Wicked*
Or
Selections from *Footloose* are all acceptable!

•will there be ‘Callbacks’??Most likely--potentially, any Callbacks will take place on May 16th or 17th.

•pay??Performers are not typically paid. However, Cbp can (& has!) been used as an Internship and/ or Independent Study for college credit. Double check with your academic advisors first. National Honor Society, community service, Key Club (etc) “volunteer hours” have also been granted by performing with us.

•when’s the actual show??Performance dates are scheduled for August 11th - 15th, 2015, in Nutley. Rehearsals run for 9 weeks, 2- 3x per weekdays (Mondays thru Thursdays).

*Carrie*, the horror musical, was dubbed the “Greatest flop in Broadway history” during its initial 1988 (only 4-performance) run! NOW, with a soaring revamped book and score by its original production team, *Carrie* has gone full circle to become a striking, non-campy tale of abuse, adolescent relations, and (in true Stephen King fashion!) dark magic.
The Cherryblossomplayers Troupe production will be directed by the husband/ wife team of Ricky & Emily Franco, with co-direction and staging by staff member Allison Hogan.
