Central Unitarian Church opens church year on Sept. 13
Bergen County's liberal religious community welcomes all!
Central Unitarian Church, Bergen County’s liberal religious community, opens its 2015-16 church year on Homecoming Sunday, Sept. 13, at 10:30 a.m. The service begins with a Water Communion, a ritual widely practiced in Unitarian Universalist congregations across the country when members and friends reunite following their summer travels and ventures. Water samples brought from rivers, lakes, and oceans near and far are mingled in a large vase to celebrate diverse experiences and common humanity.
The multigenerational worship service also features music by the House Band led by Matt Anderson, Director of Music; the Adult Choir, conducted by Robert René Galván; a story by Robin Slaw, Director of Lifespan Faith Development; and a sermon by David M. Horst, Minister, entitled “When Life Speaks.”
Children and families are welcome. Childcare for infants and toddlers is provided. The Fall Picnic follows the service at noon.
