Central Unitarian Church presents documentary 'Shadows of Liberty,' Jan. 16, with Barry Seidman of WBAI

The Social Action Committee of the Central Unitarian Church in Paramus presents "Shadows of Liberty," on Friday evening, Jan. 16, at 7:30.

Directed by Jean-Philippe Tremblay, “Shadows of Liberty” presents the true story of today’s disintegrating freedoms within the U.S. media and government. The film journeys through the darker corridors of the American media landscape, telling insider accounts of a broken media system, where journalists are prevented from pursuing controversial news stories, people are censored for speaking out against abuses of government power, and individual lives are shattered. The one-hour and 33-minute documentary is rated PG. Doors open at 7 p.m. Refreshments are served, and donations are gratefully accepted.

Central Unitarian Church, Bergen County’s liberal religious community, is located at 156 Forest Ave., Paramus, about one-mile north of Route 4. Convenient parking is provided, and the building is wheelchair accessible. The church offers an array of music, worship, education, community service, public advocacy, and fellowship programs year-round. Visit cucparamus.org or call 201-262-6300 for more information.
