New Jersey’s Supreme Court will hear an appeal from two former Paramus Catholic High School employees accused of engaging in sexual conduct with female students during a school trip to Germany.
The court’s decision came Tuesday after a two-year hold in which officials mulled whether Artur Sopel, 32, of River Edge, and Michael Sumulikoski, 28, of Elmwood Park, could be charged by New Jersey prosecutors for alleged crimes that occurred overseas, according to a report on NJ.com.
In June the courts ruled that the men could be tried in Bergen County.

A third former student came forward after Sopel and Sumulikoski were arrested and told authorities she had engaged in sexual activities with Sopel in the spring of 2010 in New Jersey.
If convicted the men face a max of 10 years in prison and a lifetime of probation and monitoring.
