Dealers Busted With $10K Worth Of Heroin At Garden State Plaza

Undercover detectives made arrangements to purchase the 30 bricks of heroin at the mall parking lot Friday, authorities said.

PARAMUS, NJ — Two Paterson men were caught with $10,000 worth of heroin at Garden State Plaza after arranging to sell it to an undercover detective, authorities said.

Merciful Parks, 24, was charged with two counts of distribution of heroin, possession with intent to distribute heroin and possession of marijuana under 50 grams, Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said in a news release.

Jeffrey H. Rincon, 29, was charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin, Grewal said.

The prosecutor's office received information that Parks was involved in dealing heroin throughout Bergen County and investigated was launched, the prosecutor said.

Undercover detectives from the prosecutor's office purchased several bricks of heroin twice in October and November, Grewal said. They agreed to met at the Garden State Plaza in Paramus.

Parks and Rincon were arrested before the transaction occurred, Grewal said. They had thirty bricks, or about 1,5000 individual bags, of heroin on them when arrested, he said.The heroin had a street value of $10,000.

Parks and Rincon were remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending court appearances.
