Deer Falls From Garden State Parkway Overpass Onto Car Below, Trapping Bergen County Woman
A woman became trapped in her car in Bergen County after a deer fell off a Garden State Parkway overpass onto the vehicle.

PARAMUS, NJ — A woman was injured on Tuesday night after a deer fell from an overpass on the Garden State Parkway and smashed into the car she was driving in Paramus, police said.
Police Chief Robert Guidetti said that officers headed to Paramus Road around 7:15 p.m. on a report of a crash.
They determined that a deer fell from the overpass and struck a 2025 Hyundai Tucson being driven by a 44-year-old woman from Hackensack.

She was heading northbound in the right lane of Paramus Road when her vehicle was struck, police said.
The driver became trapped in the vehicle when the frame of the car door was damaged. Police Officer Joseph Mastrofilipo helped free the woman.

She had non-life-threatening injuries, Guidetti said. She declined medical attention.
The deer was found dead.
