Teen E-Bike Rider Hospitalized After Crash With Tesla In Bergen County
The bike and Tesla crashed at a Bergen County intersection during rush hour on Tuesday.
PARAMUS, NJ — A teen was taken to the hospital on Tuesday night after his e-bike collided with Tesla in Paramus, police said.
Around 6:05 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the intersection of West Ridgewood Avenue and Roosevelt Boulevard, said Chief Robert Guidetti.
A preliminary investigation determined that a 50-year-old man from Ridgewood was driving a gray Tesla westbound on West Ridgewood Avenue. He made a left turn onto Roosevelt Boulevard and collided with an e-bike being driven by a 15-year-old Paramus boy.

The boy was driving on the sidewalk of West Ridgewood Avenue when he entered the crosswalk, police said.
The Tesla driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, police said.

The teen had a "moderate" wrist injury and was taken to The New Valley Hospital in Paramus for treatment.
The e-bike was impounded as part of the investigation, police said.
No summonses had been issued as of Tuesday night. The Paramus Police Traffic Safety Unit is still investigating, police said.
