Will compete in Republican primary for 38th district seat

Bergen County Freeholder John Driscoll filed his candidacy for the Republican nomination for Senate in the state's 38th district Monday.

The Paramus resident and chairman of the Bergen County Freeholders, will face Michael Agosta of Fair Lawn for the Republican party's nomination and the right to face incumbent Robert Gordon of Fair Lawn.

Driscoll, who ran unsuccessfully for the state Assembly in 2007, said he was looking forward to campaigning for the state Legislature again. If elected, he said he would focus on securing more funding for special education and making the state more affordable.
