Gordon, Eustace, and Lagana join NJ Walks for TS at Bergen Honorary Committee

State Senator Robert M. Gordon (D-38), Assemblyman Tim Eustace (D-38), and Assemblyman Joseph A. Lagana (D-38) have joined the Honorary Committee for the first NJ Walks for TS at Bergen—a day of advocacy, awareness and acceptance. The 5K walk and family fun run will take place at Overpeck Park’s Amphitheater in Ridgefield Park on Saturday, November 12 and is hosted by the NJ Center for Tourette Syndrome & Associated Disorders (NJCTS).

NJ Walks for TS at Bergen benefits the NJCTS Education Outreach Program, which educates students and teachers at schools in every corner of New Jersey about Tourette Syndrome, anti-bullying and self-advocacy. Members of the Honorary Committee have a history of support for the 1 in 100 children living with Tourette Syndrome (TS)—a neurological disorder characterized by uncontrollable movements or sounds known as tics.

The event, which is the first NJ Walks for TS event in Bergen County, will feature a 5K walk/run followed by live musical performances, family friendly activities, and games. Walkers and runners of all abilities are welcome.

“Our representatives from the 38th district are helping to make NJ Walks for TS at Bergen a fun-filled event and we’re grateful for their support,” said NJCTS Executive Director Faith W. Rice. “We invite the residents of the communities they serve to join us on November 12 and take part in a growing movement of awareness and empowerment.”
