Gov. Murphy Visits Bergen New Bridge Vaccination Site
Gov. Phil Murphy will be joined by Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco and New Bridge CEO Deborah Visconi for a tour of the facility.

PARAMUS, NJ — Gov. Phil Murphy made another stop on his recent vaccination site tour on Wednesday during a visit to the Bergen New Bridge Medical Center annex site in Paramus.
In a Facebook post, Murphy shared images from the tour, and added a brief — and general — update on the state's vaccine rollout.
"Our vaccination program is ramping up every single day, and we’re working diligently to ensure our vaccines are distributed equitably to where they need to be," said Murphy.

The site a Bergen New Bridge is labeled as an "initial distribution point" for the Moderna vaccine, and began distribution to hospital employees and category 1A personnel on December 28.
New Bridge officials announced Monday that the site would expand the group of people eligible for the vaccine to include first-responders.

The state will continue expanding the list of eligible residents, as Murphy announced Wednesday that vaccine distribution to seniors over the age of 65 and others with medical conditions will begin Thursday.
This latest expansion will also include people between the ages of 16-64 with medical conditions, Murphy said.
The governor urged patience as the state continues to ramp up their rollout, and is "taking these steps in advance of increased vaccine dosage supply."
That dosage supply will ease tensions across the state, and especially in Bergen County.
During a Wednesday vaccine clinic in Teaneck, Holy Name Medical Center officials were able to offer around 300 doses, or about 70 vaccinations an hour, but said they could do more with higher supply.

According to Murphy, the state has administered 264,681 vaccines to date.
