John Ramon Ortiz, 95, Of Paramus

A funeral service will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Annunciation.

PARAMUS, N.J. — John Ramon Ortiz, 95, of Paramus, died Saturday.

He was born in Vermont. His family went to live in Spain when he was child and he returned to live in the the United States in the 1950s, settling in New York City.

Before retiring, he worked for Civetta Construction for 30 years.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Maria, Bernabe and Arsenio.

He is survived by his wife, Elvira; children Maria, and her husband Kevin, Ramond and his wife Amelia, and Richard, and his wife Shari; grandchildren, Timothy, and his wife Kristin, Eileen, and her husband Jason, Christopher and Alexander and four great grandchildren, Declan, Jack, Grahm and Thomas.

A funeral service will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Annunciation, 50 W. Midland Ave., Paramus. Internment will follow at Garden of Memories, 300 Soldier Hill Road, Washington Township.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Alzheimer's Association, alz.org or Villa Marie Claire.
