Love for Son and People Leads to Opening of Screamin’ Parties
Second location opened in Paramus this past January
Seven years ago, Howie Abraham took his son Ian, then 2 ½, to a party.
“I saw how much he loved it, kids having fun with kids, kids enjoying it," Abraham said. "I always wanted to do something to make a difference.”
Since then, he made it his goal to open an indoor fun facility for kids, and he did. The first Screamin’ Parties was opened in West Nyack, N.Y., back in 2008, and his second location, on Route 17 south in Paramus, opened its doors in January 2011. Abraham and his wife, Sharon, run both facilities, and also own Inflatable Party Adventures, an outdoor fun option that can be hired for outdoor parties.

“I’m a big believer that if you put your all into a dream, you can make it happen.”
Screamin’ Parties is 10,000 square feet of inflatable apparatuses—some almost ceiling high—and challenging games. The focus is on safety, cleanliness and having the best party the child has ever had.

“There is always on owner on every premise to see that all goes perfect," Abraham said. "We also have monitors on every single piece of equipment.”
And Abraham is proud of the variety Screamin’ Parties offers.
“We have more than inflatable units," he said. "We have two types of ball shooting games, an interactive video game floor, and we also offer a proprietary birthday party video.”
The latter is offered in two packages: a Family video and a Party Friends Video. The Family Video can be shown in the special party room at the front of the facility, which can accommodate 45 to 50 children and their parents.
The interactive video game floor, perhaps the most popular area of play at Screamin’ Parties, offers 15 different games where guests can try and keep up with the images on the Screamin’ Stomp Floor.
“We wanted to get state-of-the-art,” Abraham said.
There are two types of celebrations that can be held at Screamin’ Parties. One is parties for birthdays, graduations and more, and the second is called Open Play, where the Abrahams and crew open the doors to those who call and make a reservation.
“We have open play for special needs community as well," Abraham said. "There are not many places to go for kids with special needs. We have a safe and homey environment. We understand their needs.”
Abraham realizes, too, that every party is important.
“It’s that special, once-a-year time for a child and their parents," Abraham said. "The number one thing is I truly care about people, and I go out of my way to do the best I can.”
