Man Charged With Possession Of .45-Caliber Handgun: Paramus Police
3 people were arrested after a traffic stop on Route 17 Saturday afternoon.

PARAMUS, N.J. — Three people were arrested after police found a .45-caliber handgun and ammunition inside a vehicle during a traffic stop on Route 17 Saturday afternoon.
Officer Henry Ramm stopped a 2001 Volkswagon Cabriolet for speeding and smelled raw marijuana coming from inside the vehicle, said Deputy Chief Robert Guidetti.
Ramm was searching the vehicle and found a .45-caliber Taurus Judge handgun and .45-caliber ammunition, Guidetti said.

Driver Scott Ross, 31, of Rutland, Vermont, was charged with possession of a handgun, possession of drug paraphernalia, the deputy chief said. He was issued motor vehicle summonses for careless driving, failure to signal and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a vehicle.
Two passengers were also charged.

Kathleen Fuentas, 25, of Jersey City, attempted to hide a bag of marijuana and was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of a handgun and tampering with evidence, Guidetti.
Richard Torruellas Jr., 22, of North Bergen, was charged with possession of handgun.
