New Management Agreement Approved For Bergen Regional Medical Center

Care Plus Bergen is proposing transforming the Paramus facility, according to a report.

PARAMUS, NJ — Officials approved a new agreement this week that will give control of Bergen Regional Medical Center to Care Plus Bergen.

The Bergen County Freeholder Board approved the agreement Wednesday and the Bergen County Improvement Authority approved it Thursday afternoon at a special meeting.

The freeholder board, county Executive Jim Tedesco and the Bergen County Improvement Authority will discuss the agreement at a press conference Friday morning. Representatives from Care Plus New Jersey, Rutgers University and Integrity House, Care Plus Bergen's partners, are slated to attend.

Tedesco Wednesday recommended to the freeholders that Care Plus Bergen assume management of the state's largest hospital Oct. 1.

Care Plus Bergen is a nonprofit run by Care Plus NJ, a mental health outpatient company and Integrity House, an addiction treatment center based in Newark. Rutgers University will be subcontracted to provide clinical services to the medical center, NorthJersey.com reported.
