New Mayor, Councilmen to Be Sworn in Saturday

The reorganization meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. Saturday.

The borough's two new councilmen and mayor start their terms Saturday at the Mayor and Council reorganization meeting.

Mayor-elect Richard LaBarbiera, and councilmen-elect Ralph Amato and Eric Nazziola will take the oath of office at the meeting, scheduled for 5 p.m. in Borough Hall.

Assemblywoman Connie Wagner (D-Paramus) will be on hand to issue the oath to LaBarbiera, while former Bergen County Executive and former state Assemblyman William Schuber and Congressman Scott Garrett will issue the oaths to Amato and Nazziola, respectively. The two new councilmen will get the chance to make speeches, and LaBarbiera will deliver the state of the borough address.

At the meeting, the Mayor and Council will also install new chiefs for the and all the fire houses, and .

Before the new term begins, however, Mayor James Tedesco will get the opportunity to say goodbye after eight years as mayor and before that three years as a councilman. Councilman Richard Conte, who lost in , will also speak after six years on council.

The Sine and Dye meeting is scheduled for 4 p.m.
