Nicholas 'Buddy' Schmeding, 90, World War II Veteran
Schmeding was a member of Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 227.

PARAMUS, N.J. — Nicholas "Buddy" Schmeding, 90, of Paramus died Sunday.
Before retiring, he was a sheet metal worker with Sheet Metal Workers Local No. 137 in Newark.
A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 227, Rutherford.

He was predeceased by his son Thomas.
He is survived by his wife Eugenie, children James and his wife Lois, Michael and his wife Brigid, Lorel Lee Hrabal and her husband Emil, and John, 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 South Fairview Ave., Paramus. A funeral service will be at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Interment will be at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Guiding Eyes for the Blind, 611 Granite Springs Road, Yorktown Heights, N.Y. 10598 or a charity of your choice.
