Numerous Bear Sightings Reported In Paramus

PARAMUS, N.J. — Numerous bear sightings were reported to the police Wednesday.

The sightings were reported on Midland Avenue west of Route 17, police said.

Police urge residents not to approach bears.

The state Department of Environmental Protection says residents should never run away from bears and to remain calm if approached by one.

Residents should speak in an assertive voice, clap their hands, or make other noises in the presence of a bear.
