October 21: NAIOP New Jersey Seminar will Focus on Digital Disruption, the Mobile Tech Wave and CRE

Impact Includes Everything from How Portfolios are Managed to the Workspaces from Which They're Managed

Technology, the mobile devices, social media, the sharing economy and the impact of millennials are dramatically changing how people get around, work and play. These new behaviors are dictating trends in workspace location, design and usage. Those trends will be the subject of discussion at NAIOP New Jersey, the commercial real estate development association’s seminar, “Digital Disruption, the Mobile Tech Wave and CRE: The Sharing Economy & Workspace Revolution.” The event is slated for Wednesday, October 21, 2015, 7:45 a.m., at the Rutgers Business School Bove Auditorium in Newark.

Following welcoming remarks by Morris Davis of the Rutgers Business School, keynoter Andrea P. Foertsch, Principal of Disruptive Space & Melrose Real Estate Strategies will address the topic, “Honing the Innovative Workspace.” She maintains that, “innovation, technology and mobility are shaking up what has conventionally made a property successful. It’s less about warehousing workers and increasingly about attracting and facilitating ideas.”

A panel discussion titled “The Revolution in Workspace Design & Usage” will include Gaurav Gupta of Ernst & Young discussing analytics-enabling speed to capture value. Robert Kellner, AIA, Spiezle Group will take a look at designing a connected and sustainable workspace; Alan Heyman of SMLR Group will focus on cyber security and governance; and Phil Kanfer of WiredScore will take a look at how “connectivity delivers tenants.”
