Pair Charged With Stealing 6 Computers From Bergen Community College
The computers were valued at $8,400, authorities said.
PARAMUS, N.J. — A Bergen man and his partner were charged with theft after they allegedly stole six computers worth $8,400 from Bergen Community College in 2014.
Charles Jackson, 44, of Hackensack, and Melvy Diaz-Cordero, 52, of Paterson, custodians at the college, allegedly worked together to steal the computers and were planning to sell them to acquaintances, Bergen County Sheriff Michael Saudino said in a press release.
Authorities recovered five of the six computers during the investigation, Saudino said.

Jackson and Diaz-Cordero were each charged with theft of moveable property and dealing in stolen property, the sheriff said.
