Paramus Cop And Civilian Crash On Route 17, Hospitalizing Both Drivers
A Paramus police car and another car crashed on Route 17, sending both drivers to the hospital.

PARAMUS, NJ — A Paramus police officer driving on Route 17 on Friday crashed into another car, sending both drivers to the hospital, police said.
Police Chief Robert Guidetti said that on Friday, just before noon, a police officer was "in the performance of his duties" driving in stop-and-go traffic in the center lane of Route 17 South.
His police car collided with another car, causing the airbag to deploy in his car, Guidetti said.

The 26-year-old officer had minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital.
The driver of the other vehicle, a 67-year-old female from Paramus, reported body pain and was also taken to the hospital, said the chief.

Both were released. The crash remains under investigation.
