Paramus High-Schoolers Struck In Hit-And-Run: Police
Police are looking for a woman with brown hair who was driving a red or burgundy SUV.

PARAMUS, NJ — Two high school cross-country runners were struck by an SUV in a hit-and-run Monday, police said.
A red- or burgundy-colored SUV was stopped at the intersection of Spring Valley Road and Haase Avenue at about 4:30 p.m. when the 14-year-old girls were running during practice, said Deputy Chief Robert Guidetti.
The driver pulled out, turned from Spring Valley Road to Haase Avenue, and hit the girls as they were running, knocking them to the ground, Guidetti said.

One girl was struck in the shoulder by the vehicle's side-view mirror, the other complained of pain in her back after being grazed, the deputy chief said.
The girls finished their run, returned to the high school, and told Principal Raymond Kiem what happened. Kiem contacted police.
