Paramus Marks America's 250th With Fireworks, Parade, & Food Truck Festival

PARAMUS, NJ — Paramus is pulling out all the stops for Independence Day this year, with a two-day celebration honoring America's 250th anniversary that includes a parade, food truck festival, fireworks spectacular, and the borough's beloved police vs. fire department softball game.

The festivities kick off Thursday, July 2, with the Frank "Dutch" Cleenput 4th of July PD vs. FD Annual Softball Game at 8 p.m. at Cliff Gennarelli Sports Complex.

The main celebration continues Friday, July 3, with three events running throughout the day. The Independence Day Parade steps off at 9 a.m. starting at Century Road and Farview Avenue, heading north on Farview Avenue and ending at Memorial School. A grandstand will be located at Christ Lutheran Church.

At 2 p.m., the Food Truck Festival gets underway at Paramus High School, hosted by Just Jersey Food Truck Festival and featuring more than 20 gourmet food trucks. Admission is $5; children under 5 get in free.

The day wraps up with a Fireworks Spectacular at dusk, also at Paramus High School, with free admission. Primary fireworks viewing will be at George Hodgins Stadium — all patrons are subject to a security search. On the turf field, blankets and towels only are permitted; no chairs.
