Paramus Police Issue Warning About Burglaries
Three burglaries were reported in the borough recently.

PARAMUS, NJ — Several burglaries in recent weeks have prompted police to urge residents to take certain steps to protect themselves.
Three burglaries occurred earlier this month and late last month. The first one was near Arbor Road and Parkway School. The second one was in the Fairview Avenue and Colorado Road area. The third was in the Roosevelt Boulevard and Sycamore Street.
Police urge residents to take the following steps to help ensure they are not burglarized:

- Call 911 to report all suspicious people and vehicles to police immediately.
- Keep an eye on your neighbor's homes.
- Keep lights on inside. It is dark before most people return from work.
- Make it appear as though someone is home all the time. Burglars target unoccupied homes.
- Lock doors and windows.
- Do not store valuables in a bedroom. Hide them around your home.
- Prune shrubs and trees to keep them from hiding your home.
