Paramus Police Officer Injured In Accident Wednesday Night, Report Says

The officer was reportedly on a motorcycle training run in Oakland when the crash occurred, authorities said in a report.

OAKLAND, N.J. — Two police officers were injured in a crash in the borough Wednesday night, authorities said.

Bergen County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Anthony Cureton only confirmed that two officers were involved in an accident and taken to area hospitals for medical treatment. He did not discuss specifics regarding the crash.

Oakland Police Chief Edward Kasper was not available for comment Wednesday night.

The officers, one from Paramus, the other from Paterson, were on a practice run as part of a certification to use motorcycles in the field, law enforcement officials told The Daily Voice. The officers sustained serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries in the crash, according to The Daily Voice report.

The officers were reportedly practicing riding their motorcycles in formation from up Route 23 in Sussex County and back down to the Bergen County Police Academy in Mahwah when the crash occurred, authorities told The Daily Voice.
