Paramus Students Trying To Raise $150K To Help Cancer Patients

The annual Relay for Life event is in June.

PARAMUS, N.J. — More than $6,200 has already been donated to the Paramus High School Relay for Life fundraiser and the event is more than four months away. The annual event will culminate in June, hopefully raising $150,000 for the American Cancer Society.

Relay for Life is a national event held at thousands of high schools throughout the United States. The student-led walks are typically held in May and June. Cancer survivors, their families and members of the community walk around high school tracks all day and night to raise money to help cancer victims and fund cancer research. A moving candlelight luminaria ceremony is held at night, honoring cancer victims.

The Paramus High School event is June 16 and 17. The goal is to raise $150,000.
